What a CompTIA CompCert is
A CompCert is CompTIA's Competency Certificate. You earn one by passing the assessment at the end of an Essentials course. It is a downloadable certificate with your name on it, issued by CompTIA, and it says you can apply the skill, not simply that you sat through the material.

Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need previous experience?
No. Every course in the package is written for beginners with no prior experience. AI Help Desk Essentials assumes you work in, or want to work in, IT support; the other twelve are for anyone.
How long does the package take?
Each course takes roughly 2 to 8 hours. All 13 together are around 60 to 75 hours of self-paced learning. You have 12 months' access, so you can do one course a month or finish them all in a few weeks.
What is included in each course?
Every course has three parts: the course itself (videos, reading and interactive scenarios), labs (guided hands-on practice), and a competency assessment at the end. Pass the assessment and you receive that course's CompTIA CompCert.
What is a CompTIA CompCert?
A CompCert is CompTIA's Competency Certificate. You earn one by passing the assessment at the end of an Essentials course. It is a downloadable certificate with your name on it, issued by CompTIA, and it shows you can apply the skill rather than that you attended. It is not the same as a CompTIA certification such as A+ or Security+, which need a proctored exam.
Can I put the CompCerts on my CV?
Yes. List them under certifications or training on your CV and add them to the certifications section of your LinkedIn profile. Completing all 13 courses gives you 13 CompTIA certificates.
Who is the package for?
People who want to use AI and data tools confidently in the job they already have: office, sales, marketing, customer service, help desk, admin and management roles. No technical background is needed.
Will this get me a job in IT, cyber security, data and AI or project management?
Not on its own. Those roles ask for full certifications with a proctored exam, which are included in our IT Support, Cyber Security, Network Engineer, AI and Data and Project Management career programmes. This package is for using AI and data better in your current role, or for testing the water before committing to a full programme.
How much does it cost?
£199 as a one-off card payment for 12 months' access to all 13 courses, labs, assessments and CompCerts. There is nothing else to pay.
Is finance available?
Finance is not needed for the package; it is a single £199 payment. Our career programmes, which start at £1,095, are the ones offered with a £1 deposit and monthly payments through Snap Finance.
Can I use ELCAS funding?
No. The package is paid in full. Our ELCAS-approved programmes (provider 14012) are listed on the ELCAS page.
Who provides the courses and certificates?
CompTIA. Course2Career is a CompTIA Authorized Partner, so your licence is genuine CompTIA access to the Essentials series, and every CompCert is issued by CompTIA.
Can I study while working?
Yes. Everything is online and self-paced on any device. Most people do a course every couple of weeks in the evenings.
What happens when I buy?
Your CompTIA licence and login details are sent by email within one working day. Your 12 months' access starts from activation.
Can my employer buy this for a team?
Yes. Licences are per learner, so a team of five is five licences. Call 0800 294 6300 and we will set it up in one go.
What happens if I fail an assessment?
You can go back over the course and labs and retake the assessment within your access period. Each CompCert is issued when you pass.
